ABOUT DIANE TRAVIS
Dear Clermont Voter,
I want to introduce myself to you and ask for your vote for Mayor, which is City Council Seat 3.
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and later lived in Texas and Minnesota before moving to Windermere in 1987. I then discovered Clermont, fell in love with the city, and its beautiful lakes and hills, and moved here in 1989.
I have a bachelor's degree from Governor’s State University. I managed and owned my own telecommunications consulting company. I started a career in real estate and now own my own real estate company, Travis Realty Group. I am a past board member and treasurer for USATriathlon, and I was named Volunteer of the Year for the Orlando Economic Development Commission. I have served as president of my homeowners association.
In 2014, I was elected to the Clermont City Council where I have served for the past six years. During that time, I'm proud to support a host of accomplishments that include a new police station, updated fire-safety equipment, the award-winning Victory Pointe Park, the new Kehlor Building for seniors and a new, safer boat ramp -- and much more. I currently serve on Lake County's Tourism Development Council and the Lake Apopka Natural Gas District Board of Directors and formerly served on the Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization's board.
I want to continue seeing our Master Plan vision realized by committing my experience and passion to the position of Mayor and by being a Champion for Clermont taxpayers. I want to bring my knowledge as a world champion athlete to the City and be the voice for health and wellness initiatives throughout our community. I am dedicated to protecting our natural resources. We must preserve the beauty of our lakes and hills.
I also want to be a champion for promoting Downtown Clermont. Great cities have great downtowns. I want to continue to see our Master Plan vision realized, especially as we prepare to be a gateway city for the Coast-to-Coast Connector trail.
As a Realtor, I get to hear what people are looking for when they relocate to our area. I get to hear what employers are seeking when they consider moving their business here to our community. I believe I am the best qualified candidate.
Thank you to the voters who supported me in the primary election, giving me the largest number of votes for mayor. I would be honored to have your vote in the general election on November 3, 2020.
